Zero Sales Tax States and Alaska

It's also good to note that the following states don't levy sales tax:

  • Delaware
  • Montana
  • New Hampshire
  • Oregon

As for Alaska, they don't have a statewide tax but they do charge local sales tax. The maximum local sales tax rate is 7.50 percent with an average local sales tax rate of 1.76 percent.
